If you're like me, the answer is probably "who?".
There will always be pieces of our lives that are governed for us. We may not feel in choice about many aspects of our life. Language, however, is an area that is ours alone, a place where we do have choice.
“Not supposed to be here” is a feeling that many of us can identify with. For trauma survivors especially, a vulnerable time like grad school can trigger past trauma and cause doubt. We look to one example of imposter syndrome to learn how we can better help ourselves.
No one can ever presume to know what is best for you. No one should presume that you cannot take care of yourself or that they know better than you do about your life. This is true even if you are a trauma survivor.
